I appreciate the context they provide and the thought that went into exposing us to a little bit of everything and the skills to jump in.The cutting-edge curriculum not only covers the basics of coding, algorithms and data structure, but takes you through intensive training in JavaScript, Node.js, HTML, CSS, jQuery, Java, and more. The course covers all the hot topics in the Data Science field, grounding in the perspective that the bootcamp is looking to prepare students with a broad range of experiences. This really sets them apart from other bootcamps, especially those provided online. They want to see every cohort succeed in their learning and you can see the labor of love that goes into teaching us, providing quality content both in the sessions and via the course site.
Most importantly, the instructors are very interactive, hands on, and passionate. They also encourage participation in a class Kaggle competition, which helps with additional free-form practical application of the concepts covered in class (plus some friendly competition for motivation). The instructors really promote class interaction which is good for tackling these topics in such a short time, getting our engagement rather than simply lecturing at us. The modules covered build on concepts in a way that really helps with understanding. The lessons and homework flow very intuitively. Read Lessġ6 weeks may seem like a daunting time commitment, but the course is so worth it! The way the Data Science Dojo crew runs their bootcamp program is very thorough. At first I was on the fence as to whether I should attend a bootcamp or just try to learn everything by myself online, but I can tell you that it was 100% worth it choosing PunchCode. I would highly recommend PunchCode to anyone wanting to level up their coding skills and break into the industry. When we graduated, she made us a very well thought out and thorough Notion doc with every resource that we needed to be successful after PunchCode. I feel like everything would've been so chaotic without her. She made sure to always keep us updated with everything we needed to know, and it was because of her that such an intense course was able to run so smoothly. She was there for us when whenever we had any coding-related questions too, and it was aways nice to get a different perspective on how to do things. But Teya was always there for us to pick us back up and bring out the best in us. PunchCode has a very intense and high-paced curriculum which can be very stressful and affect your mental health. She goes out of her way to personally connect with each student, making everyone feel very welcome. Teya is such a fun and amazing person, and she really cares about all of her students. My coding skills are light years ahead of where they were before I started PunchCode, and I can attribute all of that to Thomas.ĭon't let me forget about the assistant instructor, Teya. I don't know how he does it, but he was always able to answer every single question that we had for him in such an easy to understand way. He can jump inside the mind of each student and fully understand their thought process, which allows him to explain things to them in the best way.

He excels in his ability to read and understand each student's code (and trust me there was some very messy code written by us). I was extremely impressed with his ability to simplify such complex topics and make it easy for complete beginners to understand. Before PunchCode I took some online courses and watched a lot of YouTube tutorials, but nothing compared to the way Thomas teaches. Not only is he a wizard when it comes to programming, but he actually knows how to teach it as well. The instructor, Thomas, is nothing short of amazing. He has excellent leadership skills and sure knows how to run a good program. While the instructors will teach you all the technical skills, Mario will teach you life skills and how to be successful in the real world. He has helped me tremendously in finding work after graduating, which I will always be grateful for. Mario was an awesome program manger and you can tell that he genuinely cares about his students and their success. PunchCode was an overall great experience.
